For those who don’t know me, my name is Alexandra Jane Walsh, but I go by Alex. I am a 19-year-old college student with a passion for health and fitness. I currently attend Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where I am studying biological sciences in hopes of becoming an obstetrician/gynecologist. After thinking about starting a blog for about a year, I finally had the guts to do it.
No, I am not a big shot fitness model or some highly-paid personal trainer. I am just like every one of you. My idea for this little website is not to make money or become an internet sensation, but to inspire and motivate all my followers. If you’re looking for a website that has the secrets to drop 10 pounds in a week, sadly you’ve come to the wrong place. A healthy lifestyle is a lifestyle with no finish line. If you’re in it for the long run, I’d be happy to welcome you aboard.
A little background about me, I grew up in a small city called River Ridge in southern Louisiana, where the days are really hot and “winter” simply does not exist. As a young girl, I competed as an artistic gymnast and had a rock-hard stomach (literally). After training for 30+ hours a week, my parents decided I actually needed a life outside of gymnastics. I started to train as an all-star cheerleader at a private gym and fell in love with tumbling. By the age of 13 I was a member of the Worlds team and competed against kids across the globe. Then, came travel volleyball. I played for my high school and for a private club. Today, I still train as a beach volleyball player in Kenner, Louisiana where I often incorporate my daily workouts in the sand.
I have always been a health nut, even in high school. I would wake up before school at 5am just to go to the gym— and believe me it was not easy. I fell in love with feeling good and craved feeling strong, mentally AND physically. My ultimate goal is to help you guys fall in love with this lifestyle, just like I did. I have always done and will continue to do research on this topic to make sure you get the absolute best information available. I hope you find what you’re looking for and enjoy this website as much as I do. Your goals are waiting for you outside of your comfort zone. Go find them.
