The 10 Golden Rules of a Healthy Lifestyle
- Eat throughout the day
Never skip meals and eat frequently. Eating 3 meals and 2 snacks daily will keep your metabolism on a smooth sail. Certain meals should be larger than others and should gradually get smaller as the day goes on. Eat a large meal for breakfast, medium meal for lunch, and something some for dinner. Besides the size of your meals, this is the best advice I can give my followers—eating dinner past 8pm is a big NO NO.
- Eat clean
This does not mean counting every single calorie you eat during the day. Clean eating simply means sticking to protein, fruits, veggies and whole grain. Processed foods and carbonated drinks should not be in a clean diet.
- Never skip breakfast
At night time, our metabolism drastically slows down. Eating first ting in the morning notifies the body that you are awake and ready to move.
- Vitamin D and Calcium are a good touch
Sunlight is your best source of Vitamin D. It not only improves your health but also your state of mind. Calcium is good for processing Vitamin D and is useful for metabolism.
- Eat snacks with protein
Snacks filled with protein will keep you full longer. Try and stay away from snacks loaded with carbs and sugar.
- Regular exercise is a must
This does not mean going to the gym for multiple hours a day. Simply taking the stairs or a walk around the park is good enough.
- Epson salt bath and cold showers
Epson salt baths are not only relaxing but great for removing toxins and greatly triggers the body’s metabolism. Taking cold showers in the morning will not only wake you up but will also start your metabolism.
- Workout in the morning
Spending hours in the gym is unnecessary and quite unhealthy. Shorter workouts are more efficient and burn more calories. Plus, exercising in the morning will set your day to a good start.
- Drink water to stay hydrated
Water is crucial for good health, but drinking it at certain times during the day will maximize its effectiveness. Drinking water after waking up helps active our internal organs. Drinking before a meal helps with digestion and drinking before a long bath helps lower blood pressure. Drinking water right before going to bed will also help avoiding stroke and heart attack. Water is vital.
1o. Get enough sleep
Seven to nine hours of sleep will improve bodily function and will increase energy. Sleep is as just important as anything else when it comes to a healthy lifestyle.
